Privacy at a glance
Consent and clipboard access
Clipboard history is off until you give explicit consent in the Click Paste app. Automatic capture requires consent, Auto-cache, Full Access, and a visible, active keyboard.
The keyboard does not read or poll the clipboard while hidden, inactive, or in the background. URL-like strings are treated as ordinary text.
Local storage and retention
Clipboard content stays in the app's on-device App Group container. SQLite stores metadata, while local files store images, thumbnails, and large content bodies.
- Up to 50 recent active items by default.
- Unpinned items expire after 7 days; pinned items do not expire under the default rule.
- Images share a 200 MB local storage budget.
Why Full Access is requested
Full Access lets the keyboard read the pasteboard while it is visible and active and share the local cache with the containing app. Without Full Access, the keyboard remains a setup/status panel and clipboard history is unavailable.
Your controls
You can revoke consent at any time. Close preview does not delete content; selected-item deletion removes that cached item.
Archive local cache hides active entries by marking them archived. Confirmed Clear local cache permanently deletes active and archived metadata and blob files from the device.
Collection, sharing, and tracking
Click Paste does not upload clipboard text, URL-like strings, images, previews, typed keys, input context, or settings. It contains no ads or third-party analytics SDKs and declares no tracking or collected data.
The only declared required-reason API is App Group UserDefaults with reason 1C8F.1.
